Photodermatology Course for registrars

The Photodermatology Course for Registrars and newly appointed Consultants alternates each year between the Photobiology Unit, Department of Dermatology, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Tayside, DD1 9SY and the Photobiology Unit, Department of Environmental Dermatology, St Thomas’ Hospital.

This year the course will be held at Guy’s Hospital from Monday 16th September 2024 to Thursday 19th September 2024. Registration is now opened and the fee includes lunches, teas/coffees and conference materials. For more information, please download the following documents:

Distance learning course for nurses

A distance learning course for nurses in Phototherapies (45 CAT points Level 2) is available at the Dermatology Unit, Royal Gwent Hospital , Newport , South Wales . Phototherapist Training Courses at Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport

The residential training courses for phototherapies (UV-B, PUVA and PDT), started in the late 1990s, continue to run several times a year. The comprehensive syllabus covers basic dermatology, phototherapeutic techniques and protocols, UV physics, adverse event management, health & safety, and radiation protection. The faculty comprises experienced dermatologists, phototherapists and physicists, backed up by a unique computer-based self-learning program.
