Photodermatology Course for registrars

The Photodermatology Course for Registrars and newly appointed Consultants alternates each year between the Photobiology Unit, Department of Dermatology, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Tayside, DD1 9SY and the Photobiology Unit, Department of Environmental Dermatology, St Thomas’ Hospital.

This year the course was held at Guy’s Hospital from Monday 16th September 2024 to Thursday 19th September 2024.

Distance learning course for nurses

A distance learning course for nurses in Phototherapies (45 CAT points Level 2) is available at the Dermatology Unit, Royal Gwent Hospital , Newport , South Wales . This diploma level module lasts for six months including a 5-day residential course. Further details can be obtained from website: www.dermatologynursing.co.uk

Phototherapy Training Courses

The “Newport Course” for phototherapies (UV-B, PUVA and PDT) started in the late 1990s, and continue to run several times a year. The comprehensive syllabus covers basic dermatology, phototherapeutic techniques and protocols, UV physics, adverse event management, health & safety, and radiation protection.
